Resumptions

I'm starting to update NZ more.  I'm sticking more to the idea that I'm much better with words than I am with drawing, so we may see the return of the Stick Figure Guys (whose 4koma will be posted to the NZ site in the near future on a different page).

I'm going to start an experiment with The Geeks' Domain.  It began when I realized (or maybe simply admitted to myself), after prodding from certain people, that I am far better at writing than drawing.  Furthermore, it seems that instead of spending time in a (perhaps futile) attempt to gruelingly develop drawing skills that enable me to imprint on paper (or the screen) what I see in my head, I should use that same time to produce stories that, if liked well enough, could be adapted to comic form at a later time.

So, I've decided that TGD and (eventually) some other stories I've been kicking around (in some cases, for years) will begin to be published as online serial novels.

I can already hear people thinking, "Wut?"  And I can't blame them.  Initially, I had no idea such a thing existed yet in any substantial form.  To be sure, the form is still in a state of relative infancy.  However, there seems to be some support software for such a thing, and after contemplating such an enterprise for a while, I can't say it seems any nuttier than web comics in terms of creative endeavors.

So, gonna work on that site for a little.  I've set up a test site so the current TGD will be around for a while until I switch it over.

Until then!

No strip for 3/2/09

Re-setting up the MBP took longer than I thought it would, so add that to getting all my weekly homeworks stuff set up and working out == no strip for Monday.

The night that is thursday!

Sadly, I sold my Cintiq a month or two back, for a couple reasons.

First, I needed the money and I wasn't really doing any strips at the time.

Second, and don't get me wrong it worked as advertised, I don't think you really get the benefit of a Cintiq unless you have a large one. When the most you could possibly work on at a time (physical area wise) is letter sized, I can't imagine why I would pay $1000 to do what I could by scanning a letter-sized sketch and then inking it. Yeah, I know, but really, I ended up with essentially the same sort of stick-figure 4koma by using my 4x6 Intuos.

Maybe when I get my drawing abilities back and the Intuos limits me, I can consider a larger Cintiq.

I do imagine, though, that it'll be harder to do good sketching with the small Intuos. "Sad Girl in Space" was mostly made possible by having the Cintiq available:

Anyway, TDS is wrapping up.

The first post

I'm gonna be using this for Negative Zen related postings and drawings, instead of at the website itself.
